Elaroo is a Social Support Group that offers a service providing social inclusion for clients and respite for their carers.
Our opening hours are from 7am to 7pm. Elaroo is closed on Public Holidays and during the Christmas/New Year period.
Fees & Funding
Elaroo is funded through the Commonwealth’s Department of Health & Ageing’s Home and Community Care Program. There is a small fee for attendance and a charge for meals.
Elaroo is developed to create a secure, comfortable and familiar environment for people experiencing mild to moderate dementia. The Staff at Elaroo are trained in dementia care and provide stimulating programs, activities, entertainment and light exercise tailored to the needs of our clients. We have a bus trip once a week, that includes a picnic lunch or lunch at a venue of choice.
Elaroo is managed by our Community Co-ordinator and experienced staff plan and prepare all activities and programs. The aim of the service is to provide respite assistance to primary carers of persons affected by the early stages of dementia.
